Biso is one year old female cat arrived in the clinic of due to fever, off food and lethargic. She was spayed one week ago. Treated with antibiotic and improved but after that worsening again.
Physical examination showed fever and weakness. Blood work done showed increase in white blood cells. Chemistry test result was within normal levels. The cat was treated as inpatient on IV fluid and antibiotics covering both gram positive and gram negative.
The cat didn't improved, blood work repeated showed increase in white blood cells. Owner chose to put the cat to sleep and requested post mortum.
Post mortum showed multiple abscess in internal organs and peritonitis. The surgical procedure was done under septic condition led to multiple abscess in internal organs followed by multi organs failure.
Simple issues during the surgical procedure can save our pet.
